voting in person on election day

BE PREPARED!

What to Bring

  •  If you've voted before in Wyoming, you do not need to show ID to vote.
  • If you're a first-time voter who registered by mail, you will need to show ID to vote.
Acceptable forms include: Wyoming driver's license or Wyoming-issued ID card; or a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or government document that shows your name and address.
  • Voters without ID: If you are unable to provide ID, you will be able to vote a provisional ballot. Your ballot will be counted if you are able to provide ID to your election office before the close of business one day after the election.

What Not to Wear!

You should avoid wearing anything that can be interpreted as "political". That includes shirts, buttons, masks or hats that say things like “Ruth Sent Me”, including BLM shirts or something similar. Unfortunately, this can be interpreted by whoever is in charge. It could mean, in some cases, that somebody wearing a shirt they don’t believe is political can be denied the right to vote after waiting in line for hours.

This may be a means of voter suppression, and an excuse to deny a legitimate voter the right to cast their ballot. We need to approach this election strategically, and vote smarter and cleaner than we ever have before. We need to vote in record numbers. But we need to vote SMART.  We can wear that wonderful “Ruth Sent Me” shirt or mask when we get home, and raise a glass in her memory.
